It stops after a few minutes convinced the load is dry. Moisture sensor. The bars in the drum read conductivity, and fabric-softener residue insulates them until the machine believes everything is dry. Often a clean rather than a part.
There is water on the floor under a ventless model. The condensate path — tank seal, pump, or the drain hose if it is plumbed. On a ventless dryer there is always water inside the machine, so a leak here is a real possibility rather than an odd one.
There is a rumble or squeal that keeps getting worse. Drum rollers, the idler pulley or the belt. Caught early it is routine; run long enough, a snapped belt can damage the drum bearing.
It will not start. Door switch, thermal fuse or the control board. Door switch first — most common and least expensive.
