Terms and Conditions to the Appliance Repair Agreement.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By scheduling a service appointment, requesting a diagnostic visit, or authorizing repair work, the customer agrees to the terms outlined below. These terms apply to all services provided by MetroFix Appliance Repair and form part of the service agreement between the customer and the company.
2. Scope of Services
MetroFix Appliance Repair provides diagnostic, repair, maintenance, and installation services for residential household appliances. Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Refrigerator repair
- Washer repair
- Dryer repair
- Dishwasher repair
- Oven and stove repair
- Microwave repair
- Rangehood repair
- Appliance installation
All services are performed based on the symptoms reported by the customer and the technician’s diagnosis at the time of inspection.
3. Service Call / Diagnostic Fee
A service call fee of $79 plus applicable taxes (13% HST) is charged for the technician’s visit to the customer’s location and includes basic inspection and diagnostic evaluation of one appliance.
Important conditions:
- The fee covers technician travel and time.
- The fee applies even if the customer decides not to proceed with repairs.
- The fee is non-refundable once the technician arrives at the service location.
- Each appliance requires a separate diagnostic assessment.
4. Estimates and Authorization
After diagnosing the appliance, the technician will provide a repair estimate whenever possible.
Key conditions:
- Repairs will only proceed after the customer approves the estimate.
- Estimates are based on the information available during inspection.
- Additional problems may be discovered during the repair process.
- If additional issues are identified, a revised estimate may be provided for approval before continuing work.
- Estimates remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified.
5. Parts and Repairs
Replacement parts may be required to complete certain repairs.
Important conditions:
- Some parts may need to be ordered and may require a deposit.
- Delivery times for parts depend on manufacturer availability.
- MetroFix is not responsible for delays caused by supplier shortages or shipping issues.
- Old or replaced parts may be discarded unless the customer requests to keep them at the time of service.
6. Payment Terms
Payment for completed services is due immediately upon completion of the repair unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted payment methods may include:
- Credit or debit cards
- Electronic transfers
- Cash
MetroFix reserves the right to charge deposits for special-order parts or large repairs. Late payments may incur administrative or interest charges where permitted by law.
7. Appointments, Cancellations and Rescheduling
Customers are expected to provide access to the appliance at the scheduled service time. The following conditions apply:
- If the technician arrives and cannot access the appliance, the service call fee still applies.
- If the appliance issue cannot be reproduced during the visit, the diagnostic fee remains applicable.
- If an appointment is cancelled on the same day, or within 24 hours of the booked appointment time, the service call fee remains payable.
- Rescheduling is free, provided the appointment is moved to a date within 7 days of the original appointment.
- Once an appointment has been rescheduled it cannot be cancelled. If a rescheduled appointment is cancelled, the service call fee remains payable regardless of the notice given.

8. Warranty on Repairs
MetroFix provides a 90-day parts and labour warranty on every completed repair. The warranty period begins on the date the repair service is completed.
Warranty coverage includes:
- The specific component repaired or replaced
- Labour associated with that repair
Warranty does not cover:
- physical damage to the appliance
- any new or additional fault that was not part of the original problem or the parts replaced
- unrelated appliance failures
- misuse or improper operation
- lack of maintenance
- electrical or plumbing issues outside the appliance
- damage caused by third-party repair attempts
- commercial or non-residential use

9. Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree to provide:
- Safe and clear access to the appliance
- Accurate information about appliance symptoms
- A suitable working environment for the technician
MetroFix is not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing conditions such as defective wiring, improper installation, plumbing issues or structural problems.
10. Technician Safety and Right to Refuse Service
Technicians may refuse or discontinue service if working conditions are considered unsafe, including situations involving:
- hazardous environments
- aggressive animals
- unsafe electrical conditions
- unsanitary conditions
- inaccessible appliances
In such cases, the diagnostic fee may still apply.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MetroFix Appliance Repair shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from appliance malfunction or repair services. Examples may include:
- loss of food
- loss of business or income
- property damage unrelated to the repair performed
MetroFix’s maximum liability for any service claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific repair service. Nothing in these terms limits any right the customer has that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable law.
12. Website Use
Information on the MetroFix website is provided for general informational purposes only. The company does not guarantee:
- uninterrupted website availability
- error-free content
- compatibility with all devices or browsers
Unauthorized copying or use of website content may violate intellectual property laws.
13. Privacy
MetroFix collects limited customer information necessary to schedule appointments and perform services. Personal information may include name, phone number, service address and appliance details.
Customer information is handled in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws and is not sold to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from services provided by MetroFix Appliance Repair shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario.
15. Changes to Terms
MetroFix reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on the company website with a revised “Last Updated” date and will apply to future service bookings.
