Cycle times have crept up over months and clothes come out damp. On a ventless machine this is almost always the condenser unit clogging with fine lint. There is a secondary filter behind the plinth that many owners have never opened, and once it blocks, the heat exchanger cannot shed moisture. Cleaning it restores performance and costs nothing but access.

The water container warning keeps appearing even after emptying it. Either the level sensor or, on plumbed installations, the condensate pump that should be sending water to a drain instead of the tank. A pump that has stopped means the tank fills every cycle.

It tumbles with no heat at all. On a heat-pump model that is the compressor circuit or a thermostat; on a condenser model, the heating element. These are genuinely different repairs with different economics, so identifying which machine you have matters before anyone quotes.

There is water on the floor under the machine. The condensate path — tank seal, pump, or the hose if it is plumbed. On a ventless dryer there is always water inside the appliance, which is why a leak here is a real possibility rather than an odd one.

It will not start, or stops shortly after starting. Door switch, the thermostat, or the control board. On a stacked pair the door switch takes more abuse than most people realise.

It is noisy in a way it did not used to be. Drum bearings, rollers or the blower. Worth catching early on a machine that is awkward to get out of a closet.
