The fridge section is warm while the freezer stays cold. The most common pattern on this platform. Cold air is made in the freezer and moved across to the fridge, so when the evaporator fan or the defrost system stops, the freezer carries on and the fridge slowly warms. It almost never means the sealed system.

Frost is building on the freezer back wall. Defrost heater, defrost thermostat, or the adaptive defrost board that decides when to run a cycle. If ice returns within weeks of you clearing it manually, that circuit is the answer.

Ice and water have slowed to a dribble. Change the filter before booking anyone. An expired water filter restricts flow badly and is behind a great many service calls that never needed to happen. If a fresh one does not fix it, the inlet valve is next.

The ice maker fills but the cubes are hollow or half-formed. Usually low water pressure at the valve or a partially frozen fill tube rather than the ice maker itself. Replacing the assembly when the valve was at fault is an expensive way to not fix the problem.

There is water under the crisper or running onto the floor. Almost always a blocked defrost drain and a straightforward clear. Worth doing before it reaches the flooring, which is the costly part.

It runs constantly without cycling off. Dusty condenser, a failing condenser fan, or a door seal letting warm air in. Book it early — a compressor that never rests wears out years ahead of schedule.
