Common Frigidaire Refrigerator Faults We Repair
Most likely — the fridge is warm but the freezer is still cold. Evaporator fan, or a defrost circuit that has stopped cycling. Cold air is made in the freezer and moved across, so when that transfer stops the freezer carries on while the fridge slowly warms. If you call us with this symptom, this is what we will be carrying.
Next most likely — ice building up on the freezer back wall. Defrost heater, defrost sensor, or the control board deciding when to run a cycle. Ice returning within weeks of a manual defrost points squarely at that circuit rather than at anything you did.
Water and ice have slowed to a trickle. Change the PureSource filter before booking anyone. An expired cartridge restricts flow badly and is behind a great many calls that never needed to happen. If a fresh one does not fix it, the inlet valve is next.
It runs constantly and never cycles off. Condenser coils thick with dust, a failing condenser fan, or a door seal letting warm air in. On models with the variable-speed EvenTemp compressor, constant low-speed running is normal — it is running *hard* without cycling that is the symptom.
Water is pooling under the crisper. Blocked defrost drain, and a straightforward clear. Worth doing before it works out onto the floor.
Least likely, but worth naming — nothing is cold at all. Start relay, overload, or the compressor. The relay is inexpensive and fails far more often than the compressor does, so it gets tested first.
