Most likely — a surface element will not heat, or only works flat out. Either the element or the infinite switch behind the knob. An element with only two states, off and maximum, is pointing at the switch. That single distinction is the most common diagnosis we make on this brand.

Next most likely — the oven will not reach temperature or bakes unevenly. Bake element, the igniter on a gas oven, or a temperature sensor drifting out of true. A sensor ten degrees out never announces itself; it quietly spoils baking until somebody measures the cavity.

The gas oven lights, burns, then goes out. The oven igniter weakening. On a gas oven the igniter also holds the gas valve open, so as it ages it glows brightly without drawing enough current to keep the valve up. Gradual, classic, often misread as a valve fault.

The steam clean cycle leaves the oven still dirty. Many Frigidaire ranges use a low-temperature steam clean that loosens residue for wiping rather than burning it off. It is doing what it was designed to do. We will tell you that rather than sell you a repair.

The oven door will not close flush. Hinges or the gasket. A door sitting proud lets heat escape, so the oven misses temperature and runs long — one of the cheapest faults here to put right.

Least likely — the display is dead but the cooktop still works. Control board or its power supply. Surface elements are wired independently of the board on most ranges, which is why half the appliance keeps going.
