Common Wolf Microwave Faults We Repair
It runs, the plate turns, nothing gets hot. The magnetron, the high-voltage diode or the capacitor. This is the one part of a microwave that genuinely deserves respect — the capacitor holds a charge after the unit is unplugged, and a technician discharges it before touching anything else. It is not a DIY area, and we would say so even if it cost us the visit.
The drawer will not open, or opens halfway and stops. On Wolf’s drawer models this is the drawer motor, the drive assembly, or one of the latch switches that tells the unit the drawer is closed. The mechanism is Wolf’s own design and takes Wolf parts.
The panel is dark, or lit but unresponsive. M Series control boards fail in a few recognisable ways. Reading the fault code first usually saves replacing a board that was working.
It stops partway through a cycle. Nine times out of ten this is a door interlock switch rather than anything electronic. There are several of them, and they are a safety system — if a door does not close cleanly, stop using the unit.
The turntable has stopped turning. Usually the motor underneath or the coupler it drives. One of the cheaper and quicker repairs on the list.

It trips the breaker. Stop there. A microwave pulling enough current to trip a breaker has a fault that needs testing, and resetting it a few more times will not change that.
