The blower has become loud, or rattles and drones. Motor bearings, an unbalanced impeller, or grease built up on the fan wheel. A hood that has grown noticeably louder over a year has generally been telling you about this for months.
The lighting has stopped. Lamps, the driver, or the switching. JennAir hoods use integrated lighting rather than a socketed bulb, so it is a component replacement rather than something to swap yourself.
The controls have stopped responding. Touch panel, the receiver on remote-operated models, or the control board. On island and ceiling units the controls often sit separately from the hood body, which adds one more place for the fault to live.
It switches itself on, or will not switch off. Usually a sensor or a stuck control rather than a fan fault. Models that respond automatically to heat and humidity can look like they have a mind of their own once a sensor drifts.
