The ice maker has frozen into a solid block. This is the single most reported Samsung refrigerator fault and we see it constantly on French door models. Warm air reaches the ice compartment past a tired seal or a duct, refreezes, and the whole assembly locks up. Chipping it out clears it for a few weeks; fixing the seal or the defrost path is what actually stops it coming back.

The fridge is warm but the freezer is fine. Samsung’s Twin Cooling runs the two compartments on separate evaporators, so one side failing while the other holds is normal behaviour for the design — and it narrows the diagnosis immediately. Usually the fridge evaporator fan or its defrost circuit rather than anything shared.

Frost keeps building on the back wall. Defrost heater, defrost sensor, or a door that has stopped sealing. On All-Around Cooling models a blocked vent will do it too. Ice returning within weeks of a manual defrost points at the heater circuit.

Water is collecting under the crisper or running onto the floor. Almost always a blocked defrost drain, and a straightforward clear. Worth booking before it reaches the flooring — that becomes the expensive part.

The Family Hub screen is dead, frozen, or offline. The panel and its board are serviceable, and a failed screen does not stop the fridge cooling. Worth knowing before anyone writes off an expensive appliance over a tablet.

It runs constantly and never cycles off. Dusty condenser, a failing condenser fan, or warm air getting past a door seal. Book it early — a compressor that never rests wears out years ahead of schedule.
